Bering Straits Native Corporation was formed in 1972 and began with 6,333 original Alaska Native shareholders. Today, BSNC is owned by more than 8,100 shareholders: these include original shareholders, heirs and gift recipients residing inside and outside Alaska. BSNC shareholders who are Alaska Native are eligible to vote for the Board of Directors or on other advisory matters that come to the shareholders for a vote at the Annual Meeting.

BSNC is owned by and exists for the benefit of our shareholders and descendants. BSNC is a mission-driven company working to both foster a continuation of our way of life, and build value for Our People through economic development. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of Our People through economic development while protecting our land and preserving our culture and heritage.

Shareholder Relations

BSNC’s Shareholder Relations Department manages shareholder records, stocks, gifting of stock, stock wills and the MyBSNC portal. MyBSNC is an interactive special shareholder portal designed to provide BSNC shareholders information about their shareholder records. Shareholder Development

The Shareholder Development Department works directly with shareholders and descendants to assist them in identifying and reaching educational and professional career goals. In addition, the department helps connect shareholders and descendants with employment opportunities within the BSNC family of companies. These programs include:

Celebration of Native Arts (CONA)

BSNC is pleased to host its annual Celebration of Native Art (CONA). We have many extraordinary shareholders, descendants and shareholder spouses who are creators of art. CONA is an opportunity to celebrate their work.

Book Collection

The Bering Strait region has a rich history. In documenting this knowledge, BSNC has collected a wide variety of books written by shareholders, descendants and others about the history of our region, Our People and our lifestyle.
