Our mission is to improve the quality of life of Our People through economic development while protecting our land and preserving our culture and heritage. At Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC), we honor our commitments, empower one another, respect diversity, and lead with responsibility.
With our mission and values in mind, BSNC, its subsidiaries, and joint ventures are committed to ensuring equal access for people with disabilities. One way we accomplish this objective is by making information and communication technology (ICT) products and services developed, procured, maintained, or used by the Federal government in association with our government contracting initiatives accessible to individuals with disabilities by complying with the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Section 508).
We comply with all required Federal regulations, provisions, and standards as specified in each government contract, including the compliance requirements outlined in Section 508. To do so, our team carefully reviews each contract provision and adheres to the Revised 508 Standards and 255 Guidelines, including producing Accessibility Conformance Reports for our ICT products and services using Version 2.4 of the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template® (VPAT®) Revised Section 508 Edition to document our ICT products’ conformance with accessibility standards and guidelines. This helps ensure our ICT products and services provided to the government are accessible for people with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities. Additionally, we strive to work with vendors and manufacturers that support assistive technologies and accessible functions in their ICT products and services.
