BSNC Safety Program

Safety for Our People

Our partners, employees, subcontractors
and clients

Safety for Our People works to engage everyone in our safety culture.
Our People includes not only our employees, but our partners,
subcontractors and clients.

In driving our Safety for Our People culture, Bering Straits Native Corporation strives to ensure:

  • We support, engage and encourage employee involvement in the development and implementation of our safety programs, safety training and safety processes.
  • Our commitment to safety is demonstrated by our highest level management in support of safety by committing funding, planning and direction, setting a goal of zero incidents.
  • Prompt and thorough investigation of every incident to determine the cause and to correct and prevent future occurrences.
  • Immediate correction and reporting of hazards.

Our approach is built upon key features we bring to our technical approach to safety that include:

  • Staffing the contract with the highest qualified professional project management staff to manage the safety program that exceeds the industry performance objectives and standards.
  • Applying technology and best business practices to develop, administer and manage safety.
  • Program audits, risk assessments, consultants, safety inspections, and training.
  • Complying with applicable standards and surpassing OSHA Regulatory Requirements.
  • Performing continuous workplace inspections to identify and correct hazards when identified.
  • The establishment of a Speak Up Culture where anyone can report safety observations or concerns.
  • Conducting reviews of all incidents, lessons learned and near miss reports during weekly tailgate meetings.
Bering Straits Native Corporation is committed to safety

The Safety for Our People program aligns with Bering Straits' mission

We are committed to providing safe workplaces and maintaining a safety and health program conforming to the best practices of organizations in our industry. Safety for Our People is the safety culture we instill in each project site.
