BSNC shareholder Jenna Pitka is the proud owner of Rooted Rose, a thriving hair salon in Anchorage. A talented stylist and entrepreneur, Pitka has built a thriving business rooted in dedication and family values and was selected as the Best Bridal Makeup Artist in Anchorage, Alaska for 2021, 2024 and 2025 by the Quality Business Awards.
Originally from White Mountain, Pitka is the daughter of Joleen and Robert Fagundes and the granddaughter of Joe and Jennie Kowchee. After graduating from White Mountain High School in 2005, she trained at Trend Setters School of Beauty and refined her skills at The Loft salon before launching her own business in 2010.
Her professional journey continued to grow as she became a licensed salon owner in 2013 and a licensed instructor in 2022. Specializing in hair color, precision cuts and event styling and makeup, Pitka is known for her creative touch and personalized approach. “I’ve always had a passion for styling and braiding hair since I was little,” Pitka says. “I also had to learn to tame and care for my wild mane.”
As a mother and entrepreneur, Pitka values the flexibility of salon ownership, allowing her to balance work and family. Setting her own schedule has enabled her to maintain her reputation as a top stylist while also being present for her family.
Pitka’s advice for others looking to enter the beauty industry is to: “Smile, listen and shine. That’s all you need to be successful in this business.” She now looks forward to mentoring the next generation through the Atarashi Apprenticeship Program.
Congratulations, Jenna, on your inspiring journey and continued success with Rooted Rose!
