BSNC warmly announces the opening of Aurora Kuupiaq Corner, a new coffee shop located in the Aurora Inn & Suites, managed by descendant Rayne Lie. The café is a vibrant new addition to Nome’s community spaces, offering a cozy, light-filled atmosphere inspired by the Aurora’s northern lights.
Freshly baked goods from Kastyn’s Cakes & Bakes, owned by descendant Kastyn Lie, are available every weekday with a rotating menu. Aurora Kuupiaq Corner will also offer original merchandise soon, including sweaters and stickers featuring a custom logo designed by descendant Aralye Lie.
Rayne Lie, the eldest daughter of Erik and Crystal Lie, was born and raised in Nome and proudly shares her life with five younger siblings. Her barista journey began at Bering Tea, where she was mentored by Kristine McRae. Lie now brings that same spirit of care, craft, and community into this new venture. She credits her family and the Nome community as the backbone of this dream and hopes Aurora Kuupiaq Corner becomes a space that uplifts others the way Nome has uplifted her.
