The Bering Straits Foundation (BSF) invites dedicated individuals to apply for its’ Board of Directors.
BSF, governed by six members, aims to support the education and cultural needs of Alaska Native people and their descendants, particularly BSNC shareholders and their families.
Each director serves a three-year term, contributing their expertise and insights to support the
Foundation’s priorities and strategic direction.
BSF encourages qualified BSNC shareholders, their lineal descendants, and emerging leaders
eager to make a difference to apply. Ideal candidates will have:
**Eligibility Note**: Family members of current BSF directors (including spouses, children,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their spouses) are not eligible to receive BSF awards during
the director’s term. Current award recipients are not eligible to serve on the board, but past recipients are
encouraged to apply.

Applications for board positions are accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed by the BSNC board of directors. Applications will remain on file for one year. If a vacancy occurs on the BSF board, the such vacancy may be filled by a majority vote of the BSF directors.
Serving on the BSF Board provides an opportunity to contribute to impactful changes, support
educational and cultural programs, and work closely with a diverse team of leaders. You will play a
key role in shaping initiatives that benefit the Alaska Native community. If you are committed to
