The BSNC Board of Directors announced today that it will offer all voting shareholders on record as of Nov. 19, 2021 the opportunity to apply for a second round of CARES Act Direct Assistance. This second direct assistance payment amount will vary depending upon the number of shareholders who apply but is expected to be between $350 and $1,400. BSNC shareholders who have shouldered additional expenses and/or the loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to apply for this second CARES Act direct assistance payment. For any shareholders who received funds during the first round, this payment will be for COVID-related expenses that are in addition to those for which they received the first payment.
This second application will go live in the MyBSNC shareholder portal on Tuesday, Nov. 23. The deadline to apply for this second round is Dec. 10. The direct assistance payment will be direct deposited or mailed in late January. Due to the global paper shortage, applications will not be mailed. Shareholders are asked to apply via the MyBSNC shareholder portal or contact their local CARES Act Village Technician. Applying via the MyBSNC shareholder portal and signing up for direct deposit is the fastest way to apply and receive payment.
Unused CARES Act funds must be returned to the U.S. Treasury, so we ask you to think about how you and your family have been financially impacted by the pandemic. Whether it be the need to purchase hunting and subsistence gear for food security, the rising costs of basic commodities, to increased internet and utility bills due to stay-at-home measures, regardless of income, nearly everyone has been financially impacted by the pandemic.
