Bering Strait region residents are advised to prepare for the incoming storm. The National Weather Service (NWS) has warned about a powerful coastal storm impacting Western Alaska. This storm could be the most powerful in over a decade and have similar coastal flood impacts along the Bering Sea coast as the November 2011 Bering Sea superstorm. Significant coastal flooding and powerful winds are possible Friday evening into Sunday.
