BSNC is pleased to recognize shareholder employee Chugie Folk on her 25 years of dedicated service to the company. In 1999 and fresh out of college, Folk was very excited to return home to Nome and be offered a job working for her Native corporation. The opportunity to contribute to BSNC’s mission, coupled with the appeal of BSNC’s generous benefit package and retirement plan, solidified her decision to join the team.
Witnessing the evolution of BSNC over the past quarter-century has been a remarkable journey for Folk. When she first transferred to Anchorage in 2002, the accounting department handled the finances of just four subsidiaries. Now, BSNC boasts a portfolio of more than 30 subsidiaries. This growth and transformation underscores BSNC’s progressive trajectory and expanding influence.
When asked about her favorite aspect of the job, Folk highlights the people she works with. Over the years, the camaraderie and support from colleagues has been a constant source of motivation and joy.
Originally from Nome, Folk now resides in Anchorage with her husband Jeffrey who has commercial fished in Alaska for more than 40 years. She is the daughter of the late Stan and Valerie Sobocienski and the granddaughter of the late Helen Castel Stuart, as well as Milton and Mary Adams. With retirement on the horizon, she eagerly anticipates embracing this new chapter of life.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chugie Folk for her unwavering dedication, invaluable contributions and enduring commitment to excellence. Congratulations, Chugie on this remarkable milestone!
