Hello, my name is Shane Angnaboogok and my Inupiaq name is Kokituk. I was born and raised in Fairbanks, I’m originally from Shishmaref and Wales. My parents are Dallas Ningealook from Shishmaref and Vernae Angnaboogok from Wales. My grandparents are Daniel and Evelyn Olanna and Edith Angnaboogok. I am attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks, earning my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I plan on working my way up to manage a business once I am completed. I enjoy playing basketball with my friends and family. I am interning in the Operations department.

Hello, my name is Jeri Dan. My traditional Yup’ik name is Yura. I grew up in Stebbins, Alaska which is on the cultural borderline of Central Yup’ik and Inupiat. My family history comes from the Yukon Delta and Bering Strait region of the Northwestern region of Alaska. The origination of my father’s family started by my grandparents, RoseAnna Dan from Stebbins, Alaska and George Hoelscher from Hooper Bay, Alaska on my father Hermes Dan’s side of the family. On my mother Mary Abouchuck side of the family, my grandparents were Phillip Abouchuck from St. Michael’s, Alaska and Cecilia Pete from Stebbins, Alaska. My father Hermes Dan grew up in the community of Stebbins, Alaska and my mother Mary grew up in Stebbins, Alaska. I am currently attending Cornell College which is in Mount Vernon, Iowa pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Engineering and minoring in Finance for entrepreneurship. After completing college, I plan on attending engineering school for aerospace engineering. I am interning in the Shareholder Development department.

Avrey Hansell Hello, my name is Avrey Hansell, and my Inupiaq name is Quiqpuq. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska, but my family is from Shaktoolik. I am attending school at Alaska Pacific University, working on a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I plan on working for any Alaska Native organization once I am completed. I am interning at Alaska Industrial Hardware in Accounting. |
Hello, my name is Reece Ivanoff. My Inupiaq name is Kuukanƞak (coo-cong-hak), which was my great uncle Raymond Douglas’ Inupiaq name. I was born and raised in Anchorage, and my parents are Kevin and Janis Ivanoff. I attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, during my sophomore and freshman year and played for the Slugs basketball team. I will be transferring to the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, for my junior and senior year where I will be majoring in Business Management. I am interning in the Business Development department. |
Hello, my name is Parker Kenick, and I am from Nome, Alaska. My parents are Jake and Theresa Kenick. My family comes from Nunivak Island, King Island and across the states. I am attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks and seeking a degree in Computer Science. I would like to find a career in something like Robotics or IT. I am on the land of Sitnasuak, Kawarak, and others around the region. I am interning with the Land and Resource department in Nome. |
My name is Lawrence Lynch. I am from Anchorage, Alaska. My parents are Cheryl and Timothy Lynch. My grandparents on my mother’s side are Mary Ann and the late Lawrence T. Davis. My grandparents on my father’s side are the late Robert and Ellen Lynch. I am currently attending graduate school at Seton Hall University, getting my master’s degree in Professional Accounting. I plan on becoming a CPA once I am completed with school. I am interning in the Accounting department. |
Hello, my name is Maiyuraq. My English name is Lauryn Nanouk Jones. My mother is Maiyugiaq Jolene Nanouk from Unalakleet, Alaska. My grandmother is Quŋthuk Threasa Nanouk from Unalakleet. And my grandfather Angaiyuk Peter Roger Nanouk Sr. is from Koyuk. My father is Wes Jones from Dillingham, Alaska. My grandmother is Helen Weir from La Veta, Colorado and my grandfather is Ward Jones from Swink, Colorado. I am currently studying at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. I am majoring in Environmental Policy and minoring in Social Justice in Education and Environmental Justice. My main goal is to help my community of Unalakleet and other surrounding communities as they deal with the effects of climate change. On top of being a BSNC Summer Intern, I am also an Arctic Youth Ambassador and a part of the 2023 Native Movement Youth Cohort. While I go to school in Bellingham, I recognize that I am on the homelands of the Coast Salish people, more specifically the lands of Lummi Nation and the lands of the Nooksack tribe. And while I am home, I am on the land of the Inupiaq people. I am currently interning in the Media and Communications department at BSNC! |
Hello, my name is Marilyn Pier. My traditional name is Ahnosuk, which means “to hit with a stick,” and I was born in Anchorage, Alaska. My parents are Shannon Delgado and Wade Pier from Anchorage and Arizona, and my grandparents are Susie Sockpick and Dave Delgado from Nome and Missouri. My great-grandparents are Teddy Sockpick and Holly Sockpick. They are from Wales and Shishmaref. I am currently attending school at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), getting my degree in Music. I plan to perform with different musical groups in Anchorage and, hopefully, in other states once I am completed. Something interesting about me is that I have been drawing since I was two years old, and it is my preferred hobby. I am interning in the Business Proposal department. |
