BSNC Welcomes the 2022 Summer Interns

BSNC welcomes Amber Ongtowasruk as an HR intern. She recently graduated from AVTEC in Seward where she received Accounting Specialist and Administrative Assistant certificates. After her internship, she plans to continue working towards a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Ongtowasruk’s traditional name is Ublugiaq. She is from Wales and Nome. Her parents are Ron and Gerri Ongtowasruk and her grandparents are Patrick Ongtowasruk, Arlene Soxie and James and Vivien Olin.
BSNC welcomes Avery Hansell as a Proposals intern. Hansell is currently attending the University of Alaska Anchorage to attain an Associate of Applied Science. Afterward, he plans on applying for the Physical Therapy Assistant program. Hansell’s Inupiaq name is Quiqpup. He is Inupiaq and Yup’ik and was born and raised in Anchorage and Kodiak. His family is part of the Malamute tribe in Nome and Shaktoolik. His parents are Ann Asicksik and Jeffery Hansell and his grandparents are Kipi and Paul Asicksik Sr. and Jerry and Sue Hansell.
BSNC welcomes Jessica Davis as an Accounting intern. Davis is currently working on an Accounting degree at Harding University. Originally from Unalakleet, Davis has lived in Sitka for the past 13 years. Her parents are Jack and Jennifer Davis and her grandparents are Chuck and Virginia Degnan.
BSNC welcomes Jolene Nanouk as a Media and Communications intern. Her Inupiaq names are Mayugiaq and Sagrumin. Nanouk is from Unalakleet and is interning while on Inupiat land in Unalakleet. Her parents were Roger and Theresa Nanouk and her grandparents were Peter and Martha Nanouk and Joseph and Anna Etageak. She is currently attending graduate school at the University of Alaska Fairbanks studying Rural Development.

BSNC welcomes IT intern Keon Evans. Keon is from Nome and his parents are Dave Evans and Lucille Sands. He is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He plans to return to Nome once he receives his degree.
BSNC welcomes Kylie Evans as an HR intern. Evans is from Nome. Her parents are Dave Evans and Lucille Sands and her grandparents are Laura Evans and Robert Evans and Dolly Kugzruk and Glenn Carter. She will be attending Texas Lutheran University to pursue a degree in Sociology. Currently, she is finishing her Associate of Arts degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She plans to return to the region after completing her education and work for Our People.
BSNC welcomes Marilyn “Suniikiaq” Moore as a Media and Communications intern. Moore is from Golovin and Elim. Her mother, Susan Dexter, is from Golovin and her father, Timothy Moore, is from Elim. Her maternal grandmother, Maria Dexter, is from White Mountain and her paternal grandfather, Joe Dexter, is from Nome. Her paternal grandmother, Jeri Nagaruk, is from Albuquerque, NM and her late paternal grandfather, Lincoln Moore, is from Elim. She is currently attending the University of Alaska Anchorage where she is pursuing a degree in Social Work.
BSNC welcomes Sierra Musgrove as a legal intern. She is currently residing on Inupiat lands in Uŋalaqłiit (Unalakleet). Her traditional name is Arnacuk. Her grandparents are Linda and Clarence (Junie) Towarak. She is currently a sophomore at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington (On Palúspam and Nimiipuu land), pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After completing her undergraduate education she plans on attending law school.
