US DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (USDOE)
ALASKA NATIVE ADULT EDUCATION
Upcoming: Health, Safety and Environmental Technician (HSET) and the Roustabout Training Programs.
Northern Industrial Training (NIT) has received a grant from the US Department of Education for Alaska Natives for both of these trainings. The grant pays for the program tuition, books and fees, but it does not cover the student’s support costs such as the drug test, lodging, meals, etc.
NIT seeks applicants who wish to pursue training as a Health, Safety and Environmental Technician or Oil Field Roustabout. NIT seeks eligible Alaska Native people to attend these trainings, although students must pay for associated costs such as a mandatory drug test, lodging and meals.
Application deadlines are March 15 for the Roustabout training program and March 29 for the Health, Safety and Environmental Technician program.
The next Roustabout training is set to take place March 25 - April 19 – March 8 in Palmer Alaska. The next HSET training is set to take place April 8 - May 10, 2013 in Anchorage Alaska.
